I am still in disbelief of making to the finale. From the moment I saw the first season, I knew I wanted to be a part of the show and I wanted to win! The challenge for the finale was to create an installation using the space of the gallery. I had the honor to work with the amazing team from Corning, Helen Tegeler, Eric Meek, and Tom Ryder, not to mention the guest evaluator being non other than the head curator from the Corning Museum of Glass, Susie Silbert.

The intent of this piece was to use the perfect, empty, white space of the gallery as a facade - a symbol of artificially pure perfection, but to allow the colorful imperfection of life, of reality, to break through and expose itself.

One of the most fascinating things about this piece for me, since reflecting on the competition and the release of the show is the perception of reality and how easily that can be twisted. The way events are perceived, even in a realistic setting, do not necessarily reflect reality. Each of us have own perception and our own experience that impacts our view and understanding of the reality around us.
